I hope you are keeping well and that you are able to enjoy the sunshine safely. We may be moving to a different phase of life with coronavirus but I am still hearing of those who are suffering from its effects. Please get in touch with Angela Dunford if you know anyone who would like to be included on the Prayer Chain for this or any other reason.
On the subject of prayer, it will soon be the start of Thy Kingdom Come. During the period between Ascension and Pentecost from 21st May to 31st May we will be joining people from around the world in prayer. 'Thy kingdom come' is an initiative of the Archbishop of Canterbury and it has grown tremendously after being set up about 5 years ago. St Mary's will be hosting a series of online prayer times and also distributing prayer materials for use at home. There will be material provided for online or individual prayer walks around the villages. Please do get in touch if you would like to be involved or visit the website for thy kingdom come or St Mary's to find out more.
We are hoping to have an online 'Bread Church' service on Ascension Day - more on that to follow. On Pentecost Sunday the Rt. Revd. Richard Atkinson, Bishop of Bedford will be the guest preacher at our online service.
You can access all the Sunday services via the St Mary's website www.stmaryseatonbray.org.uk on the St Mary's Facebook page or on YouTube. Huge thanks to Revd Stephen for producing the service, to Stephen Axford for the beautiful music and to Chris Banks who is leading this week's intercessions. I find the services spiritually uplifting, especially knowing that we come together in prayer and worship though not in person.
It is always good to hear from you by phone, email or Zoom!
Here is a video of the Morning Prayer service for Easter 5 from St Mary's Eaton Bray (10 May 2020). The service can be followed using the Service Booklet for Sunday 10 May 2020.
Following the statement of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, there will be no services at St Mary's, Eaton Bray or All Saints, Dagnall until further notice. We will however, be doing our best to meet the Archbishops' challenge to bring 'church' to people in different ways, so please revisit the St Mary's Eaton Bray Church website and our Facebook page.
