When doing your shopping, please don't forget that you can give someone a present of relief or development-aid in a third world country through a number of national and international charities.
Think about whether this might be a suitable gift for someone you know - perhaps much more meaningful than "bath salts and inexpensive scent, and hideous tie so kindly meant".
