The Church and the environment
Along with the rest of society the Church has had to consider its responsibility to protect the environment. Following a diocesan initiative, the PCC has prepared a simple statement of Environmental Policy and renewed ways in which we can sensibly reduceour consumption of the earth's resources.
St Mary's has followed good husbandry over many years so you are unlikely to notice many new initiatives. The PCC has decided to retain the low energy external lighting to reduce the risk to St Mary's of vandalism and theft and that some windows will be kept open in church to reduce the likelihood of rotting timbers.
