Church Groups

Ladies' Guild

St Mary's Ladies Guild aims to widen a circle of friendship among women within the church and those in the community. It tries especially to create a caring and loving fellowship so that all those within the group feel their participation is appreciated and that they are valued and cared about as individuals. The Guild welcomes all women to join, not just members of St Mary's congregation. Some activities and talks are religious in nature as we hope to encourage each member to deepen and grow in faith and to find ways of using her gifts for the benefit of others.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2.00pm, when there is a speaker or demonstrator sharing their interests, involvements and skills; this helps us to balance our outlook on global, national and local issues. Our mission outreach raises over £500 each year for our chosen charity; we also raise money for St Mary's at the Christmas Fair. A tea is provided each month by the committee and this gives time for friendship and fellowship, most especially valuable for those who live alone.
