St Mary's Christmas Fayre

St Mary's Christmas FayreSaturday 17th November

The St Mary's Christmas Fayre will take place Saturday November 17th, between 12.30 and 2.30pm, in Eaton Bray Village Hall.

There will be stalls and games for all ages as well as a raffle. Entrance 50p (including tea or coffee and biscuit). Ploughman's Lunches will be available. Proceeds in aid of the Church General Fund.

Remembering our loved ones

We shall have our usual Eucharist of Remembrance for our departed loved ones on All Souls' Day, Friday 2nd November at 8.00pm.

Please make a note of the date, and let friends and neighbours who have suffered bereavement know about it. Please PRINT the names of those to be remembered at the altar on the list on the table beside the bookcase.

Beetle Drive

In aid of the Chilterns MS Center, Friday 26th October, 7-9pm, in Edlesborough Memorial Hall.

Tickets - adults £2.50, children £1 from Carol Mockett.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks, raffle.

Come and have an enjoyable evening, and support our Parish Project as well.

Vicar's Letter - October 2007

This summer has been dominated by pictures of a missing child. Ever since her disappearance was first reported, we have been surrounded by pictures of Madeleine McCann, with her playful eyes and mischievous grin. We may have been angered by the excessive journalistic speculation about this tragic case and the intrusive reporting, but no-one can deny how those pictures have seized our hearts. None of us knows the child, and yet we feel for her, and we are gripped by a deep sense of tender compassion for her. When something terrible happens to a child, we all feel a love for the victim, however hard it may be to explain our feelings rationally.
