St Mary's Eaton Bray: August 2005

Prayer Group

The first meeting of the prayer group will be on Monday 5th September at 1.30pm at Brian Wyke's house. The next meeting will be on Monday 19th September at 8pm at Sally Taylor's house. If you would like to join us, please contact Brian or Sally.

Lady Chapel Roof

We hope that the repairs to the roof will begin before the end of the month. It is expected that they will take about 5 weeks, during which time there will be some inconvenience inside the church as well as outside.

Summer Club

There will be a lively summer club run by our Churches Together at Eaton Bray village hall, from 15th to 19th August. This is for children from 5 to 11 years. Times 10am to 12noon - the theme is "Thunder Birds are go!". Please contact Catherine Roots for enrolment forms.

Parish Share

The congregational meeting to consider our diocesan assessment and its implications for our own Parish (as arranged at the Annual parochial Church Meeting) will be held in the Village Hall on Tuesday evening, 20 September, at 8.00pm. This is an important meeting for all of us - which is why we are giving plenty of notice.

Jazz at St Mary's

Jazz at St Mary'sOn the evening of Saturday 10th September, at 8pm, there will be a live jazz band concert performed by The Vine Street Six.

Proceeds will go to St Mary's Fabric Fund, and Phase 2 of the Village Hall refurbishment project.

Tickets are now available (and are also available on the door) at £7.50 each, which includes a glass of wine.

Edlesborough, St Mary the Virgin - Come and see the Progress!

The Churches Conservation Trust invites you to a special Open Day, on Saturday 10th September 2005. You are invited to Edlesborough, St Mary the Virgin, to experience conservation in action. The site will be specially opened to provide access to these unique repairs.
